It’s been a long time coming, but we’re HAPPY to announce that PlacePlay has been (un)officially launched!

So, what exactly is PlacePlay?  Good question.

- PlacePlay is our new location-based mobile gaming platform.  It’s in Feed Al right now and as of tomorrow, will be in Flipstones 2.

- PlacePlay is a platform that allows users to post their high scores to virtual leader boards wherever they’re playing such as a coffee shop, office or bus stop.

- By posting your score (we call it a ‘pl@y’) you earn virtual currency that buys you Boosts within the game, so you can play better/faster and beat your last score.

We think PlacePlay has the opportunity to change the way people think and play mobile games and so far, we’re on the right track.  Last week, PlacePlay made it’s beta debut in Feed Al with enthusiastic and encouraging feedback.  Tomorrow, we’re launching the completely re-built Flipstones – now titled Flipstones 2 which will also have PlacePlay integration…. exciting stuff!

A few weeks after the launch of Finger Physics HD we are enamored by the iPad and all the possibilities it offers us as game developers. The larger screen and crystal clear graphics really enhance gameplay and the overall experience. While the iPhone is still an amazing gaming device, the iPad is a step above and we plan to take full advantage of it!

Technically Finger Physics HD Free is port from iPhone, so you won’t see any differences in the levels or stages per se, but it does feel like a brand new game.

Finger Physics: Thumb Wars is the highly anticipated extension of the original finger-bending-puzzler Finger Physics. In Thumb Wars, we’re delivering 2 modes (Glade Meadow & Constructor), 80+ levels and OpenFeint achievements! The biggest difference between the original and Thumb Wars is the Weekly Championships which include Global and National ranking along with the top 3 individuals who scored highest…talk about bragging rights!

True to form, we’re going to deliver FREE levels on an on-going basis so there’s always new levels to conquer and other regions (and fingers) to dominate!

Let the battle begin!

After rounds and rounds of testing and development the final version of Thumb Wars will not disappoint. The game offers 2 modes including Glaze & Constructor. Within each mode there are tons of levels with increasing difficulty. So if you’re a Finger Physics aficionado the first few levels will be cake, however you’ll soon be humbled as the difficulty heightens and you wonder how on earth each level is beatable?! And that’s where the hair-pulling-frustration comes into play. But just like the original, after a few attempts your brain will slowly but surely figure out the puzzle… maybe. And if not, you can just wait until we release how-to videos on our YouTube channel.

There were differing opinions around PressOK as to how the revitalized game would perform on the App Store. People were split – some thought the classic card game still had a strong following and with the right tweaks, we could find that audience. Others assumed the game was dead and we were wasting our time and resources. Well, the proof is in the pudding as they say.

After two plus months on the App Store, Gin Rummy Multipack has done well and (almost more importantly) has been consistent. Ten days after the new version hit the App Store, Gin Rummy Multipack found a very comfortable position in the top 10 of the Games/Card category and hasn’t budged. In an industry full of ups, downs and unpredictability, we like that.

If you like card games then you’ll like Gin Rummy. The gameplay is the same as it was when our grandparents played ages ago, but it’s in a new, fun format that keeps you engaged. If you like mixing up your avatar and your opponent, there’s that but if you’re more of a purist card player you’ll find what you’re looking for. It’s very easy to pick up at any time for a few hands versus the smack-talking Bubbles the Panda or a sultry blond bombshell – your choice.

Fantasy Date is an app that all guys should have on their iPhone or iTouch. It’s a must-have for several reasons:
1. There are hot chicks on the app that are real – none of that animation stuff
2. The goal of the game is to score a date (or more) with one (or all) of the chicks
3. It’s excellent practice for real world situations whether you’re single or married
4. You’ll die laughing trying to win Scarlett, Sabrina, Debbie or Jessica’s affection
